At the age of 5, Bryant was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a form of blood cancer, a rapid growth of abnormal white cells that accumulate in the bone marrow and interfere with the production of normal blood cells. Pediatric AML survival rate is 64%.
Bryant was diagnosed July 7th, 2014, that day our lives forever changed.
The words, “your child has cancer” was hard to intake and hard to believe. Right away Bryant was taken into surgery, had a broviac port inserted his chest for easy access to all his chemotherapy treatments and medications. Then he went 104 days with toxic chemo going in his little body to kill the bad cells, which at the same time kills his good cells and immune system and in turn cause horrible side effects. And so at the age of 6yrs old, lil Bryant’s body had taken enough toxic treatments and his organs one by one began to fail. Bryant spent the last 4 days of his life hooked up to a life support machine and gained his angel wings November 17th, 2014.
